Volt is immediately hiring for Manufacturing Technician in
Glendale, CA.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will:
Ride Prototype Technicians work within a Ride Development
Engineering responsible for construction of wood vehicle mockups,
seat bucks and guest restraint development, from concept to
creative buy offs.
Support Engineering in every aspect of mechanical ride mockup and
testing request, up to first article production vehicle buy
off.
Have ability to collaborate within diverse teams of technical and
creative members and be comfortable in environments where scope and
requirements change frequently.
Provide interpretation and manipulation of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
drawings, with ability to follow direction from conceptional
drawings and white board sketches.
Perform woodworking operations using table, chop, panel saw and
routers for construction of ride vehicle mockups and seat
bucks.
This is a full time, onsite opportunity.
The ideal candidate will:
Interact with all levels from Staff to Executive level as well as
occasional interaction with Engineering and Creative
departments.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working in an environment with constant project/design
changes and ability to jump from one project to another prior to
completion of assigned tasks.
Highly dependable, strong work ethic, willingness to learn new
things and continually improve skills.
Mechanical knowledge
Ability to work directly with engineering and creative staff to
determine proper fabrication methods.
Self-sufficient/able to work and add value with minimal
oversight.
Interpretation and manipulation of SolidWorks and AutoCAD drawings,
with ability to follow direction from conceptional drawings and
white board sketches.
Perform woodworking operations using table, chop, panel saw and
routers for construction of ride vehicle mockups and seat
bucks.
Perform moderate machining operations using conventional vertical
mill and lathe.
Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment to include press
brake, shear, roll, and metal cutting saws.
Perform basic welding tasks and adjust machine parameters as
required using GMAW and GTAW processes.
Background of mechanical assembly.
Initiative-taking/self-sufficient/able to keep a safe and clean
working environment.
Forklift, scissor lift training and rigging experience a plus.
Ability to collaborate within a diverse team.
Know how to navigate 3d Cad systems, and take dimensions will not
need to be a Cad Designer
Mechanical ability to support projects
Nice to have knowledge of Machines: Table saw, panel saw, chop
saw
Pay Rate: $46.00 - $51.00 an hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on
several factors, including the candidate's education, work
experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications,
etc.
