Job Title: IEP SpecialistReports To: Director of Special
EducationLocation: District OfficeEmployment Type: Full-Time,
12-Month PositionPosition SummaryThe IEP Specialist plays a
critical role in supporting the Special Education Department across
the entire K-12 charter school district. This position is
responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant, and
student-centered Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The IEP
Specialist provides direct support to special education teachers,
collaborates with school teams and families, and ensures fidelity
to all federal and state special education requirements.Key
Responsibilities:IEP Development & ComplianceWrite and/or support
the development of IEPs in compliance with IDEA, state, and
district regulationsReview existing IEPs for compliance, clarity,
and instructional alignmentMaintain accurate records and
documentation for all IEP-related activitiesSupport &
CollaborationServe as a resource and mentor to special education
teachers regarding best practices for IEP development, progress
monitoring, and documentationCollaborate with general education
teachers, administrators, and related service providers to ensure
effective IEP implementationProvide professional development and
training to school teams on IEP procedures and legal updatesMeeting
ParticipationAttend and facilitate IEP meetings as the LEA
representative or IEP writer as neededCommunicate effectively with
families, ensuring they are informed and involved in the IEP
processEnsure meetings are scheduled, documented, and conducted
within required timelinesCase Management SupportSupport case
managers in maintaining compliance with timelines and data
collectionAssist in developing appropriate goals and
accommodations/modifications based on data and student
needsParticipate in audits and assist in preparing for state or
district reviewsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Special
Education or related field (Master's preferred)Valid Special
Education teaching credential or related certificationMinimum of 3
years of experience in special education, with extensive knowledge
of the IEP processStrong understanding of IDEA, ADA, and relevant
state special education laws and regulationsExceptional written and
verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time
management skillProficiency with special education data
systemsPreferred Skills & AttributesExperience supporting special
education in a charter school or multi-site environmentAbility to
manage multiple priorities across schools and grade levels
(K-12)Collaborative team player who models professionalism,
integrity, and empathBilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a
plusWork Environment & TravelThis role will serve multiple school
sites and campuses across the district (Tucson and
Phoenix)Occasional evening meetings or events may be
required.Compensation details: 55000-65000 Yearly
