Strong critical thinking and assessment skills Description: The
position involves caring for patients with epilepsy and other
neurodiagnoses. The unit consists of 48 beds, including 10
specialized epilepsy rooms. Ratios are 1:4 for both days and
nights. Charge nurses have no patient assignments and there is one
resource RN on duty during both shifts. Nurse aides are available
to assist during the day and night shifts. The weekend requirement
is three shifts in a four-week period with self-scheduling. Holiday
coverage will be based on unit needs. Scrub color will be in line
with unit specifications. Common patient diagnoses include
epilepsy, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injuries. Neuro RNs are
expected to have experience with both MedSurg and Telemetry
practices. The environment supports critical care, including Bipap
ventilation and has 24/7 access to respiratory therapy and pharmacy
services. Nurses will be educated on equipment and policies
specific to the facility. This role may require floating to other
MedSurg/Telemetry floors as needed. Nurses will be assessed on
their skills, specifically in sterile field management. Strong
assessment skills are necessary to detect subtle changes in patient
conditions. Candidates should have a BSN and preferred
