Job Description:
Waste Connections is seeking a dedicated Landfill Gas Technician
to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the
environmental safety and efficiency of landfill operations where
waste byproducts are a significant concern. As part of our
commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, the
Landfill Gas Technician will monitor and maintain landfill gas
collection and control systems. This position offers a unique

innovation and community values. Operate, monitor, and maintain
landfill gas extraction systems to ensure optimal performance.
Perform routine system inspections and maintenance checks.
Troubleshoot and repair system components such as wellheads,
condensate management systems, and blower/flare stations. Record
and report system operation data and any regulatory compliance
issues. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local
regulations regarding landfill gas operations. Respond to
emergencies involving the gas collection systems as required.
Collaborate with environmental engineers or specialists to discuss
and analyze monitoring data. Participate in environmental
monitoring of air, soil, and groundwater related to landfill
operations. Proficiency in using tools and equipment required for
system maintenance and repairs. Strong understanding of mechanical
and electrical systems. Ability to analyze data and prepare
accurate reports. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational and problem-solving skills. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k SWANA Landfill Gas
Systems Operations and Maintenance certification preferred, but not
required. OSHA HAZWOPER certification. Any additional
certifications related to environmental safety and waste
management
