- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, family
studies, psychology, or a behavioral or social science-related
field
- One year of experience with victim advocacy, social work,
crisis intervention, or a related fieldWe Also Value
- Two years of experience with victim advocacy, social work,
crisis intervention, or a related field which includes experience
managing cases
- Experience working in a criminal justice system
- Public service experience working in a victim or
advocate-related capacity
- Bilingual skills in English and SpanishJob Contributions
- Provide information on the criminal justice system and on
victims' legal rights and protections
- Provide information on the criminal justice process, serve as a
provide court accompaniment, and attend court proceedings with, or
on behalf of a victim
- Identify resources for victims and make referrals to various
social service agencies
- Provide crisis intervention/short-term counseling
- Research case status using numerous computer databases, in
person or by phone
- Manage large caseloads, documents and prepare reports and
present findings
- Work in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts
victimsWorking Conditions
- High volume, fast-paced office environment
- Ability to move up to 20 pounds floor to waist, pushing/pulling
up to 20 pounds at a distance of up to 100 feet
- Requires travel to and from job-related locations during the
course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding
the use of County or private vehicles used on County business
- Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire Selection Procedure
